Plans for a third album called 'The Talking Cure', which would  'Hands and Feet', 'Roundabout Ways' and 'The Trouble Song' out by September suffered a setback.

Following a performance of 'Three Cheers For Batgirl' on Carlton TV's 'The Max' in June 1999, the group started to record numbers like 'That Girl Could Be You' (written in February 1998 and tabled for the television appearance), 'So Easy Now' (also written in February 1998) and 'The Trouble Song' (February 1999).

Sitting on the sofa at Anna Wexler's house in Norwich (Spring 2000), Patrick with Ben and Malcolm who joined Moth Conspiracy to work on such tunes as 'The Inseparables', 'Somebody You Know' 'James Macleane' and 'CERN'. Malcolm had stepped into John Moreira's shoes the previous year.
